How to Set Up Emergency SOS on iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus

Emergency SOS plays a big part in establishing a safe and harmonious life for iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus users. Apple’s latest software update, i0s 11, had to make sure that with their numerous awesome update, comes an update in which focuses on their consumers overall safety, hence Emergency SOS.

Emergency SOS can be utilized when simultaneously pressing the power button as well as the increase volume button. This should set your phone into Emergency mode which will prevent those who may wish to access your phone’s sensitive information.  It can also reach out to contacts who you’ve selected as emergency contacts. 


Enabling Auto Call


1. Access Settings
2. Go to Emergency SOS

3. Select on “Auto Call”
4. Deselect Auto Call to turn the feature off

Setting Emergency Contacts

As mentioned above, whenever you use the SOS feature, Apple will automatically notify your emergency contacts if you have them set. Emergency contacts can be set up in the Health app:

1. Access Health
2. Select Medical ID
3. Hit Edit

4. Access Emergency Contacts section
5. Add any relevant contacts with “+”

These features can help protect your security, but it’s always important to be cognizant of your surroundings.  Hopefully, using some of these settings can reassure you.
