How to Fix the Essential PH1 Overheating Problem with These Solutions:
- Third party applications are usually responsible for the overheating problem. But you can only be sure by checking through the Safe Mode. To get into the Safe Mode, press and hold the power button until the options are displayed. Then select the Reboot to Safe Mode option. Tap on Restart and a Safe Mode window should emerge. You can perform several operations without using any third party apps. If you don’t encounter any issue, you can be sure the problem was caused by a third party app. Try uninstalling one after another until the overheating problem is fixed. Alternatively, you can just use the factory reset.
- Before a factory reset, try using a safer method which will not cause any of your data to get lost such as wiping the cache partition. You can also learn how to clear the Essential PH1 cache from here. With your Essential PH1 turned off, press and hold the volume up, power button and the home key all at the same time. The Essential logo will appear after which you can you can let go of the buttons because the phone will have now entered the Recovery Mode. Using the volume down button in the Recovery Mode to scroll through then highlight the Reboot System now option and select your choice using the Power button.
